Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dannie Kidd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hokki Kage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dannie Kidd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hokki Kage! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kidd slips a jab and a cross from Kage.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kage. Kidd swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Kage shoots for a double leg takedown but Kidd sprawls well. He's pushed Kage's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Kage shoots for a takedown but Kidd saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Kage shoots in for a double leg but Kidd sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kidd seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Dannie Kidd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hokki Kage. Kage throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kidd's waist but Kidd gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kage off to one side. Kidd tries to counter with a takedown but Kage is quick to defend against it. Kage takes the fight into the clinch. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Kidd. Kidd jumps guard and drags Kage to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kidd lands a couple of shots from the bottom.
Kage is looking to work some ground and pound but Kidd has wrist control. Kidd can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kage controls the pace. Kidd really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kage throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kidd works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kage won't allow Kidd to sweep him here. Kage trying to control but Kidd is working from the bottom. Kidd looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Kage wants to stand and escape but instead Kidd has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Kage tries to land a sweep but no joy. Our spies down at at Cozad MMA Los Angeles inform us that Kage has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Kidd will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Kidd looking to sit in guard and control but Kage gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Kidd manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kage manages to get himself to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kidd missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Kage has Kidd pulled in close to control his posture. Kage wants to sweep here but Kidd controlling him for the moment. Kidd drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kidd jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Kidd wants to control from the top but Kage keeps moving. Kidd stays in close to Kage's body and controls the position. Kage really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kidd. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kidd in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Kage is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Kidd dives into side control.
Kidd tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Kidd is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Kage's shoulder. That is not cool. Kidd is trying to get an arm triangle but Kage is defending well. Kidd advances to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kidd wants to control the pace but Kage is squirming around nicely. Kage wants to control but Kidd is having none of it. Kidd wants to take his opponent's back but Kage doesn't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kidd jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kage manages to avoid the submission attempt. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kidd looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dannie Kidd dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Kage throws a low kick but it's checked well by Kidd. Kage fails with a takedown attempt. Kage throws a combination that misses and Kidd counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Kage changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kidd fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Kidd lands a good knee to the midsection. Kage won't want to take too many of those. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kage has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Kage wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kidd has him pressed against the cage. Kidd keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Kage's efforts to push away. Kidd lands on the inside with an uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kidd's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Kage lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Kage tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kidd defends well and Kage ends up having to push Kidd into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Dannie Kidd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hokki Kage. Kage clinches up against the cage. Kidd is working Kage over against the cage. Kidd goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kage prevents it.
Kidd prevents Kage from breaking the clinch. Kidd scores with a nice hook to the head. Kidd misses with a punch to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kidd gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Kage regains guard.
Kidd wants to control from the top but Kage keeps moving. Kage being controlled here, momentarily. Kage wants to improve his position but instead Kidd has moved into half guard.
Dannie Kidd overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kage tries to roll over but Kidd keeps him under control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kidd is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kage defends it well. Kage is trying to control but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kage wants to get back to his feet. Kage tries to get to full guard but Kidd has control of the leg.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kage. Kage takes the fight into the clinch. Kage tries to pull guard but Kidd won't allow it.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kage content to stall in guard here. Kidd is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kage fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Kage rushes Kidd and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Kidd lands a right hand. Kidd pulls guard effortlessly. Kage stands up from Kidd's guard - Kage perhaps looking for a knockout. Kidd scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kage dives in and grabs Kidd's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kidd pushes down on Kage's head and hops out. Kage misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Dannie Kidd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hokki Kage. Kage shoots for a takedown but Kidd saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Kidd is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kage can do to turn this around? Kage takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kidd lands with a nice combination. Kage backs away looking to recover. Some bone on bone action there as Kidd checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. As Kage looks to move away, Kidd throws a big counter combo but Kage just gets out of the way. Kidd stuffs the takedown attempt from Kage. Kage gets slowly back to his feet. Kage fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Kidd decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Kage is looking to get back to is feet but Kidd passes into side control.
Kidd scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Kage to see if he's OK. Kidd in side control, just content to control the action for now. Kidd trying to control the position but Kage is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kidd is really struggling to control Kage but he's trying to hold on to the position. Kage tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Kidd easily slips into full mount! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kage has given up his back here. Will Kidd look for the submission or keep pounding away?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kidd is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Kage knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Kage for a finish. Kidd not allowing Kage to control his hands. Kidd is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Kage wants to control his opponent's hands but Kidd gets his hands free. Kage trying to get back to his feet but Kidd is in full control for now. Kage tries to escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kage defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Kidd's arms. Kidd is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Kage has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Kidd patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kidd is looking for the choke from the back position but Kage is controlling his hands well. Kage just trying to survive but Kidd is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Hokki Kage has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dannie Kidd is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kidd keeps control of the position as Kage tries to break free.
And that's the end of the fight! Dannie Kidd showed his dominance in that final round. Well Kidd has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
