Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Manuel Lora (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Petersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Manuel Lora! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Don Petersen! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lora. Lora fails to land the takedown. Lora dives in and grabs Petersen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Petersen pushes down on Lora's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Manuel Lora. That's going to take a lot out of him. A telegraphed right hand from Petersen misses the target. Petersen throws a head kick but Lora moves out of range.
Lora looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Petersen is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Lora decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Petersen is not content to let Lora control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Petersen trying to hold on to Lora's head to control him but Lora postures up.
Lora is pressing down on Petersen's thigh, looking to free his foot. Petersen is holding on for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lora moves into full mount! Petersen won't be happy about that! Lora moves to take his opponent's back. Lora has the hooks in. Petersen is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Petersen trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Petersen breaks Lora's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Lora looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Lora controls Petersen momentarily but Petersen frees himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Petersen throws a big elbow that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lora working a defensive guard here.
Lora on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lora tries to get out of the position. Petersen throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Petersen drops back looking for a leg! Lora is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lora manages to kick Petersen off! Petersen jumps back into Lora's guard. Lora looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Petersen passes into side control.
Lora manages to work his way to half guard, despite Petersen's best efforts. Petersen passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Lora! Lora is bucking up trying to escape but Petersen cracks him with another couple of good strikes. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lora wants to hold on but Petersen pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lora is trying to escape the mount.
Petersen looking to control but Lora is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Petersen wants to finish this one by submission but Lora is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Petersen. Lora tries to hold on but Petersen pushes him away. Petersen looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Petersen working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Lora wants to control but Petersen is having none of it. Lora tries to control the position but Petersen now has his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lora trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Petersen looking for the choke from the back. Petersen is trying to stick to Lora's back but Lora is turning into Petersen. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Petersen's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Lora. Lora is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Lora trying to control the position from guard on top but Petersen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lora trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Lora postures up.
Lora wants to control from the top but Petersen keeps moving. Petersen is trying to control the position but Lora postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Don Petersen dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Lora doesn't succeed with the takedown and Petersen counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Lora! Lora tries to improve position but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Petersen has hold of Lora's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Lora tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Petersen cranks the arm and Lora screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Lora, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Don Petersen!
