Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alexei Mikhailov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nivolumab Opdivo! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mikhailov will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mikhailov throws a good cross that connects.

A nice side step and Opdivo releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Opdivo jabs at Mikhailov's body. Mikhailov throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mikhailov is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Opdivo's half guard. Mikhailov prevents Opdivo from improving his position. Mikhailov looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Opdivo wants to get back to full guard. Mikhailov wants to take a breather but Opdivo is having none of it. Mikhailov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Opdivo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Opdivo has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Opdivo looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Mikhailov in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Opdivo tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Mikhailov!
