Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Quintin Dennis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Cox! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cox gets a clinch. Dennis is trying to break the clinch but Cox is controlling him. Dennis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cox drives through and clinches with Dennis against the cage.
Dennis blocks a body shot from Cox. Cox escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cox moves in looking to clinch but Dennis pushes him off. Dennis tries to counter with a takedown but Cox is quick to defend against it. Cox fails in his attempt to clinch. Dennis clinches with his opponent.
Dennis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Dennis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cox swats him away and circles back towards the center. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cox rushes Dennis and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. A hook to the body from Cox.
Dennis tries to break free but Cox pushes him back against the cage. A frustrated look appears on Dennis's face as he tries to break the clinch. Cox landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Cox gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Cox pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Cox connects with a high kick.
It looks like Quintin Dennis has been cut. Dennis shoots in and bounces Cox off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Dennis engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Dennis gets to his feet. Cox looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Dennis dives in for a single leg takedown but Cox sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. The fight stays on the outside here - Cox looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cox pushes Dennis up against the cage in a clinch. Cox throws a knee to the head but misses.
Dennis manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dennis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cox gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Dennis is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Cox trying to hold on to Dennis's head to control him but Dennis postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dennis wants to work for an arm triangle but Cox is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Dennis is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Cox is trying to maintain the position but Dennis is very close to passing his half guard. Dennis prevents Cox from improving his position. Cox moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Cox looks winded! Dennis gets to his feet - Cox follows without any prompting. The fight stays on the outside here - Cox looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Cox leaves Dennis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Cox tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dennis paws at him with a jab and circles away. John Cox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cox tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dennis swats him away and circles back towards the center. Cox takes the fight into the clinch. Dennis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cox darts in and clinches Dennis up against the cage. Dennis working hard to break the clinch. Cox pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. John Cox is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Cox doesn't manage to clinch there - Dennis circles away.
Dennis tries to counter by clinching up but Cox breaks away and moves out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but John Cox will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Quintin Dennis's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Cox lands with a right hand. Dennis fails with the takedown. Cox has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Cox tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dennis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. As Cox tries to get set, Dennis tries to push him back and clinch up but Cox manages to avoid the attempt. Cox throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Cox tries to keep at a distance but Dennis has taken the fight into the clinch. Dennis tries to break free but Cox pushes him back against the cage. Dennis is trying to force a seperation but Cox has the dominant position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cox breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Dennis circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cox tries to clinch up. Cox misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cox is looking to clinch but Dennis is avoiding it.
Dennis closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cox to the mat! Cox manages to get full guard. Cox wriggles free and stands up. Cox is breathing heavily. Dennis shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dennis showed some decent athleticism there. Cox is defending against the submission attempts here by Dennis.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cox is trying to get back to full guard. Dennis controlling the action here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dennis's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Dennis wants to stand but Cox has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Dennis stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Cox to get to his feet. Cox closes the distance and pushes Dennis back into the cage. Dennis wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Cox gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Dennis.
Dennis has had enough of the clinch but Cox keeps him there for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dennis wants to get back to striking at distance but Cox won't allow it.
Cox trying to control the position but instead, Dennis has worked for underhooks and has pushed Cox into the cage. Cox's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Dennis has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quintin Dennis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dennis fails with the takedown. Cox tries to land a front kick but Dennis steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Cox fails to land with a series of punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dennis scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Dennis seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Dennis is figuring out what he wants to do next. Dennis wants to get back to his feet.
Cox wants to control but Dennis is keeping busy and won't allow it. Dennis slows the pace down in half guard. Cox tries to get to full guard but Dennis has control of the leg. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dennis is taking a breather. Cox says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Cox showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Quintin Dennis's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Dennis closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dennis lands in his opponent's guard. Cox is working an open guard so Dennis takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Cox tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dennis paws at him with a jab and circles away. Dennis feinted with a counter takedown. Cox clinches up with Dennis and pushes him back against the cage. Cox throws a punch but it's blocked by Dennis. Cox wants to break the clinch but can't.
John Cox seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dennis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Dennis throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cox tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dennis is in Cox's guard. Dennis wants to get up but he can't break Cox's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Dennis sitting in guard here, content to control. Dennis gets to his feet - Cox follows without any prompting. Cox takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dennis. Cox is looking to clinch. Quintin Dennis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cox closes the distance and pushes Dennis back into the cage. Cox breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Cox tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dennis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dennis. Cox is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Dennis with a poor takedown and Cox counters with a series of strikes. Dennis will be more careful next time no doubt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quintin Dennis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dennis misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Nice defenses there by Dennis. Cox connects with a good right hand that stumbles Dennis. Dennis circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Cox scores with an uppercut up the middle. Cox escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dennis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dennis wants to control but Cox is keeping him busy. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Dennis tries to stand but Cox is controlling his head. Dennis slows the pace down. Dennis has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Cox tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Dennis changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Cox moves into range and clinches up with Dennis.
And that's the end of the fight! John Cox comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Cox winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
