Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Barcode Liang (ranked 6202 p4p, 721 weight class) and Wayne Carter (ranked 7653 p4p, 789 weight class). Carter has chosen Lil'Wayne - I'm Me as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liang gets a clinch.
Carter looking to slow down the pace here.
Liang wants to take the fight to the mat but Carter manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Carter scores with a nice short uppercut.

Carter looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

I was talking to Liang's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Carter tries to land knees in the clinch but Liang avoids the damage to the body.
Liang is pushing Carter up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Liang goes for a takedown in the clinch but Carter prevents it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Liang wants to clinch up but Carter keeps it at a distance.

and Carter counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Liang takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Carter lands with an uppercut that bounces Liang off the cage and back into range.
Liang looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Wayne Carter comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.

Wayne Carter decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
