Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Tove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jacob Tove!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Gomez!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Aafke Stam and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez slaps away a takedown attempt from Tove, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A nice side step and Gomez releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Tove misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gomez.
Gomez thinks about the counter body kick.
Tove shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gomez sprawls well. Gomez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tove gets slowly back to his feet.
Tove goes for a double leg but Gomez avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Gomez continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jacob Tove. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tove tries to pull guard but Gomez won't allow it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gomez wants to pass to mount but Tove is defending the position.

Gomez seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tove.

Gomez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Gomez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gomez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Tove tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gomez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tove somewhat.
Gomez throws a body punch but Tove moves out of range.
Tove really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Tove pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Tove shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gomez defends it nicely.
Tove tries to clinch there but Gomez circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tove tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gomez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tove somewhat.
Tove is breathing heavily.
Gomez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tove's waist but Tove gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gomez off to one side.
Tove pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Gomez shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Tove is not content to let Gomez control the position.

Gomez is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Tove as he works his way to full guard.
Gomez wants to control from the top but Tove keeps moving.
Gomez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gomez is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tove working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gomez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gomez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Tove tries to clinch up

and Gomez counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Tove keeping moving, preventing Gomez from controlling successfully.
Gomez looking to sit in guard and control but Tove gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Tove cracks Gomez with a solid left hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tove is fighting to break Gomez's control of his arms but Gomez is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Gomez is trying to control the position but Tove postures up.

Tove looking to pass the guard.
Tove sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Tove trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Tove stopping the sweep attempt from Gomez.
Tove trying to control but Gomez is working from the bottom.

Tove postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Tove trying to control the position from guard on top but Gomez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Gomez connects with a leg kick. Tove looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Gomez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Tove tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Gomez changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Sloppy strikes from Tove. Those never looked like landing.
Gomez is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Tove tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gomez swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gomez appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tove.

Gomez leaves Tove with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A head kick misses from Tove.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Tove blocks the body kick.
Gomez has a takedown stuffed.
Tove seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Tove enables Gomez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Tove manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Gomez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tove swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Tove is looking to stand up but Gomez isn't so interested in that idea.
Gomez content to stall in guard here.

Gomez wants to stand but Tove has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Gomez controls from within his opponent's guard.
Joe Gomez has got the better of the ground game so far.
Tove tries to land a sweep but no joy.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Gomez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tove.
Gomez raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Gomez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Tove misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gomez throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Gomez moves into the clinch.

Gomez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Tove rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gomez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Tove doesn't manage to clinch there - Gomez circles away.
Gomez keeps the fight on the outside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gomez is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Tove's half guard.
Tove has hold of Gomez's hands but Gomez slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Nice strikes from Gomez there.

Tove on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Gomez thows a huge punch but Tove dodges it nicely.
Tove is not content to let Gomez control the position.
Gomez tries to pass the half guard into mount. Tove knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Gomez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tove keeps working.
Gomez moves nicely into side control.
Gomez taking a breather here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Tove tries to buck Gomez off but Gomez is having none of it.
Gomez controls the position.

Gomez tries for a kimura but Tove is defending well.
You can see the frustration on Tove's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Tove is trying to improve his position.
Tove is looking to get back to his feet here but Gomez is keeping cool and he's managed to take Tove's back.

Gomez looking to soften up his opponent with punches.

Tove is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Gomez gets his way!

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Gomez tries to get the hooks in deep but Tove pushed the leg off.

Joe Gomez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Gomez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
