Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between George Berry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazushi Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kazushi Gomi has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with George Berry's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, George Berry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazushi Gomi! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gomi throws a head kick but Berry moves out of range.
Gomi fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Berry, pushing him back against the cage. Berry pushes off an throws an elbow but Gomi leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Berry is trying to break the clinch but Gomi is controlling him. A short left from Berry. Berry manages to pull guard.
Gomi being controlled here momentarily. Gomi avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Berry working for a triangle but Gomi defends it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gomi trying to control the position from guard on top but Berry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gomi has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad MMA Tokyo. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Berry could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Berry is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Gomi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Berry has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gomi has managed to get both his arms back between Berry's legs - danger averted. Gomi controls from within his opponent's guard. Gomi won't allow Berry to get back to his feet. Berry keeping moving, preventing Gomi from controlling successfully. Berry not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gomi trying to control but Berry is working from the bottom. Gomi scores with a decent looking elbow strike. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gomi tries to free his leg and advance position but Berry is retaining full guard. Gomi throwing strikes from guard but Berry blocks nicely. Gomi throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Berry works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Berry is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Gomi clinches with his opponent.
Berry lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Gomi is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Berry to keep the fight standing. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Berry. Berry turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Berry manages to end up in side control. Gomi is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Berry's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Gomi looks winded! Gomi looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Berry lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Gomi looking for submissions off his back. Berry tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Gomi. Berry is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Gomi is looking to escape. Berry is working for a kimura but Gomi is defending it quite comfortably.
Berry scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Berry working over Gomi with some ground and pound. Gomi looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Gomi wants to control but Berry is keeping busy.
Berry is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Gomi is pressing down on Berry's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gomi has his hands on Berry's head, controlling the position. Gomi has momentary wrist control but Berry slips an elbow through the middle. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
George Berry dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Berry rushes Gomi and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Gomi gets control of Berry's arms and successfully pulls guard. Gomi will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Berry wants to stand and escape but instead Gomi has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Berry working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Gomi has passed into half guard!
Gomi not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Gomi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Berry doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gomi. Berry is trying to stand up here but Gomi is controlling him well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Berry looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Berry is staying active underneath Gomi, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Gomi is breathing heavily. Berry is trying to control but can't.
Berry wants to get back to full guard. Berry is refusing to be controlled, as Gomi sits in half guard. Gomi stops Berry from getting back to his feet.
Berry knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gomi on the ground. Kazushi Gomi has got the better of the ground game so far. Berry wants to control but Gomi is keeping busy.
Gomi is keen to just control but Berry is a slippery customer. Berry blocking the ground and pound attempt from Gomi. Berry looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Gomi is trying for a kimura here. Berry looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Gomi wins by kimura!
