Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gabriel Ward! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ross Gleeson! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Leandro Rodrigues and Felipe Paraventi.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ward has a takedown stuffed. Gleeson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Ward back to the cage. Gleeson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. A swing and a miss from Gleeson. Gleeson swings for the body but Ward moves out of range.
Ward drops down looking for a counter takedown but Gleeson sprawls and moves away. Ward shoots in and drives through. Gleeson sprawls well. Gleeson misses with a double jab.
Gleeson lands a front kick. Ward shoots in for a takedown but Gleeson shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gabriel Ward. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ward takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Ward fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ward misses with a two punch combination.
A solid leg kick lands there for Gleeson.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ward tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Ross Gleeson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ward fails in his attempt to clinch. Gleeson is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. A telegraphed right hand from Gleeson misses the target. Ross Gleeson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Gleeson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ward shoots for a takedown but Gleeson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Gleeson lands a high kick!
Ward blocks a head kick by Gleeson.
Ward tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Gleeson defends well and Ward ends up having to push Gleeson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Gleeson connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ward momentarily.

Ward is rocked! Gleeson with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Good leg kick by Gleeson there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Ward shoots and misses and Gleeson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Oh Ward is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Gleeson lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Ward looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gleeson is fending him off so far but Ward persists. Nope, Gleeson circles away and we're back to standing. Ward seems to have got his legs back now. Gleeson scores with a nice body kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gleeson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Gleeson lands with a kick to the ribs.
Ward is breathing heavily. Gleeson plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Gleeson scores with a leg kick.
Ward takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Ward fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Gleeson misses with the combination.
Gleeson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ward is looking to counter the offense by Gleeson and move into the clinch. Ward takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Gleeson lands a leg kick that knocks Ward off balance momentarily. Ward changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gleeson tries to avoid it but Ward manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gleeson to the ground. Gleeson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Gleeson lands a jab to the head.
Donk. Gleeson catches Ward right on the button with a cross. Ward doesn't manage to clinch there - Gleeson circles away.
A little jabbing left from Gleeson on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Ward throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Gleeson tries a head kick but it misses.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Ward tries for a takedown but Gleeson circles away easily and Gleeson counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Gleeson looks at the referee who does nothing so Gleeson lands a crushing right that sends Ward to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ross Gleeson!
