Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Emanuel Furlan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Crolla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Emanuel Furlan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ricky Crolla!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Sandra Marshall and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Crolla gets tackled into the cage by Furlan. Furlan maintains the clinch.
Furlan wants to take the fight to the mat but Crolla manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Crolla gets control of Furlan's arms and successfully pulls guard. Crolla will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Crolla keeping moving, preventing Furlan from controlling successfully.
Furlan showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Furlan won't allow Crolla to get back to his feet.
Furlan controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Furlan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Furlan drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Crolla manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Furlan has Crolla in his guard.

Crolla must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Furlan is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Crolla trying to control but Furlan is working from the bottom.

Furlan looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Crolla connects with a couple of short punches.

Furlan throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Crolla got a little sloppy there for a moment and Furlan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Crolla has managed to get both his arms back between Furlan's legs - danger averted.

Crolla wanted to stand there but Furlan had control of the position.
Crolla is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Furlan looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Crolla passes into side control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Crolla is chipping away with strikes.

Furlan can't do much from the bottom here.
Furlan gets back to half guard.
Crolla lands with a punch from half guard.

Crolla is working for a submission of some sort.
Furlan is staying active underneath Crolla, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Crolla is looking to advance position but Furlan won't allow it.
Furlan preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Furlan is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Crolla avoids the attempt from Furlan to control.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ricky Crolla dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Furlan cracks the inside of Crolla's front leg.
Furlan looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Furlan darts in and clinches Crolla up against the cage.

Crolla has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Furlan clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
A lull in the action here.
Crolla is trying to stick to Furlan's back but Furlan is turning into Crolla. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Crolla's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Furlan.
Furlan stays in close to Crolla's body and controls the position.
Furlan trying to control but Crolla is working from the bottom.
Crolla looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Furlan passes into half guard.
Furlan uses his free foot to push down on Crolla's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Crolla.
Furlan controlling the pace for now.
Crolla wants to control but Furlan is having none of it.
Crolla manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Furlan seems to be looking for submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Furlan is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Crolla defends it well.
Crolla trying to control from the bottom.
Still in half guard, Furlan seems content to control.
Furlan is looking to take a break and control but Crolla is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Crolla wants to control but Furlan is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Furlan trying to control the pace.

Crolla looking for submissions off his back.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Furlan is thwarting Crolla's attempts to control the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Furlan throws a lazy body kick

and Crolla counters by clinching up.
Crolla stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Furlan gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Crolla tries to get to full guard but Furlan has control of the leg.

Furlan is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Crolla sees it coming and defends easily.

Furlan seems to be looking for submissions.
Crolla is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Furlan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Furlan's back!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Crolla is looking to finish with some ground and pound!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Emanuel Furlan will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Furlan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Furlan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Ricky Crolla has got the better of the ground game so far.
Crolla takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Crolla gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Crolla has hold of Furlan's hands but Furlan slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Crolla has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Furlan is on him like a limpet, forcing Crolla back against the cage.

Crolla gets control of Furlan's arms and successfully pulls guard. Crolla will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Furlan in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Crolla has his feet on Furlan's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Furlan throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

Furlan takes the fight into the clinch.

Crolla has clasped his hands together around Furlan's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Furlan is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Crolla off and has taken his back!
Furlan has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Crolla's body.
Crolla is really stuck here.

Crolla trying to control the action but Furlan just sinks the hooks in.
What can Crolla do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Furlan lands with a hammerfist to the side of Crolla's head.
Crolla wants to get back to his feet.

Furlan looking for the choke but no joy.
I really don't envy Crolla right now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Crolla looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Crolla is trying to stand back up.
Furlan controlling well, preventing Crolla from escaping the position.

Furlan has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Crolla has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

And that's the end of the fight!
Emanuel Furlan showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Furlan has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
