Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Keith Blubb (ranked 2952 p4p, 375 weight class) and Major Payne (ranked 5020 p4p, 568 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payne doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Blubb counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Payne lands with a right hand.
Payne looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Blubb works Payne's body with a nice hook.
Blubb lands with an overhand left.

It looks like Major Payne has been cut.
We've been told by Blubb's head coaches at Ferocious Beast that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Blubb takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Blubb scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Payne doesn't seem bothered though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blubb throws a sloppy body shot
and Payne counters with a one-two to the body.
Payne throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Payne shoots for a double leg takedown but Blubb sprawls well. He's pushed Payne's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Payne shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Blubb as he jumps to the side.
Keith Blubb has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Major Payne.
Blubb throws a shot from downtown. Payne moves away and avoids it.

Blubb cracks Payne with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Payne looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Blubb finish him?

Payne is rocked!
Blubb fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Payne square on the jaw! Damn, Payne is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
