Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kazushi Mizushima (ranked 4768 p4p, 446 weight class) and Toshi Hijikata (ranked 4416 p4p, 430 weight class). Toshi Hijikata is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mizushima clinches with his opponent.

Hijikata escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hijikata feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Mizushima's calf.

Mizushima fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hijikata, pushing him back against the cage.

I was talking to Mizushima's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Mizushima goes for a takedown attempt but Hijikata pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
The fighters circling - Hijikata throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mizushima shoots in looking for a takedown but Hijikata manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mizushima's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mizushima wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hijikata keeps working.

Mizushima doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Hijikata keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
