Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dave Monson (ranked 2973 p4p, 298 weight class) and Leonard Owusu (ranked 5109 p4p, 470 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

It looks like Dave Monson has been cut.
Owusu throws a series of punches but Monson avoids them all with ease.
Owusu misses with a head kick.
Leonard Owusu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Monson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Owusu's calf.
Nice defenses there by Monson.
Monson has a takedown stuffed.
Owusu takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Monson connects with a leg kick. Owusu looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Monson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Owusu.
Monson drops down looking for a counter takedown but Owusu sprawls and moves away.

Monson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Owusu manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Owusu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Owusu is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Owusu is keen to just control but Monson is a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Monson holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Owusu is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Monson has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Owusu is looking to defend but Monson has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Owusu! Monson pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Owusu taps out and this one is all over!

After the fight, Dave Monson was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
