Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Judah (ranked 830 p4p, 134 weight class) and Ed Ruth (ranked 1875 p4p, 283 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Daniel Judah! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ed Ruth! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Sam Margolis and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ruth moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
It looks like Daniel Judah has been cut. Judah misses the shot to the body. Judah lunges at Ruth with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Ruth's hand. Judah wants to land a leg kick but Ruth is out of range. A decent looking body kick lands there for Judah. Judah shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. A countering left hand to the body from Ruth misses. Daniel Judah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ruth throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Judah on the side of the head. Ruth throws a right hand that misses
and Judah counters with a good low kick that Ruth was not able to check. Good standup being displayed there by Judah as he connects with a hook. Judah tries to clinch up and Ruth counters with a nice right hand that sends Judah toppling to the canvas! Judah scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Ruth finish him?!
Judah is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Judah lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Judah uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ruth. Judah tries to counter by clinching up but Ruth breaks away and moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Judah lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Daniel Judah is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ruth ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Judah closes the distance looking to clinch and Ruth counters with a series of strikes. Judah will be more careful next time no doubt. Judah throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Judah connects with a solid leg kick. Judah throws a head kick but Ruth moves out of range.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Ruth has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Ruth takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Judah misses with a kick to the body.

It seemed like Ruth was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Ruth fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Judah throws a head kick that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Judah is looking to score with low kicks. Ruth let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Judah ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ruth moves away. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Judah moves into range and clinches up with Ruth. I was talking to Judah's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Judah is pressed up against the cage. Ruth has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Judah down to the mat. Judah avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Judah doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Ruth lands a big uppercut and Judah crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Judah looks OK. Ruth waves Judah back to his feet! Oh Judah is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Judah throws a leg kick and Ruth counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Judah is breathing heavily. Judah walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Judah limp body while Ruth jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ed Ruth!
