The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones misses with a takedown attempt
and Federline counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jones shoots in but no luck this time.
Jones moves out of range as Federline strikes.
Jones moves out of range of the strikes.
No luck for Jones with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luther Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Federline punishes Jones's body with a nice straight punch.
Horrible takedown attempt by Jones or perhaps it was just good defense by Federline, which made it look bad.
Federline fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jones looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Jones has taken the fight to the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones digs a right hand into Federline's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Federline's gas tank.

Jones has Federline pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Jones pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Federline tumbling to the mat - Jones dives into Federline's guard.

Federline really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Federline can do anything to dispel that myth.

Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Federline keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.

Jones fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Federline is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Jones lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
