Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alejandro Franchesci (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Randall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randall has chosen Promentory as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Alejandro Franchesci!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Randall!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Richard Clark and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Randall throws a jab when Franchesci was well out of range.
Franchesci closes the distance and clinches up with Randall, looking for a takedown. Franchesci pushes Randall against the cage but Randall circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Franchesci sets himself, and Randall steps forward looking for the clinch! Franchesci avoids it this time.
Franchesci throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Randall's waist but Randall gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Franchesci off to one side.
Randall lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Franchesci throws a head kick but Randall moves out of range.
Franchesci blocks a head kick by Randall.
Randall looks to land a body kick but Franchesci moved away.
Franchesci feinted with a counter takedown.

Franchesci gets tackled into the cage by Randall. Randall maintains the clinch.

Randall escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Franchesci stuffs the takedown attempt from Randall. Randall gets slowly back to his feet.
Dave Randall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Franchesci shoots in but Randall avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alejandro Franchesci. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Randall shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Franchesci as he jumps to the side.
Randall will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Randall throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Franchesci's waist but Franchesci gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Randall off to one side.
Franchesci tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Randall manages to circle out of the way.
Franchesci closes this distance looking for a takedown but Randall circles away.
As Franchesci backs off Randall throws a huge counter combo but Franchesci manages to avoid it all.
Randall shoots for a double leg takedown but Franchesci sprawls well. He's pushed Randall's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Franchesci defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Randall.
Randall looks winded!
Randall darts in looking for a takedown but Franchesci gets double underhooks and turns Randall into the cage.
Franchesci fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Randall tries a head kick but it misses.

Franchesci fails with the takedown.
Randall misses with a double jab.
Franchesci misses the shot to the body.

Randall closes the distance and clinches.
Franchesci goes for a takedown attempt but Randall pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Randall shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Franchesci pinned against the cage. Franchesci gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Franchesci leaves Randall with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Franchesci changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Randall tries to avoid it but Franchesci manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Randall to the ground. Randall escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Randall.
Franchesci takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Randall is looking to clinch but Franchesci is avoiding it.
Franchesci half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Franchesci blocks a head kick by Randall.
Crunch! Franchesci slams his shin into Randall's torso.
Randall throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Franchesci is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Randall dodges the punch combination from Franchesci.

Randall fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Franchesci, pushing him back against the cage.
Randall lands a knee to the head.

Randall pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A bone on bone clash there as Randall blocks the leg kick.
Randall throws a sloppy head kick and Franchesci moves out of range easily.
A head kick misses from Randall.
Randall scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Franchesci doesn't seem bothered though.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Randall pushes Franchesci up against the cage in a clinch.
Franchesci gets underhooks to prevent Randall's takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dave Randall dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Franchesci takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Franchesci shoots and misses

and Randall counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Randall.
Randall lands a knee to the body.
Randall can't find room to land a body shot as Franchesci controls the action.

Randall pulls guard effortlessly.

Randall has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Franchesci has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Randall drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Franchesci pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Randall.
Randall is breathing heavily.
Franchesci goes for a double leg but Randall avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Randall continues to drive forward.

Franchesci darts in looking for a takedown but Randall gets double underhooks and turns Franchesci into the cage.

Franchesci misses with a takedown attempt - Randall sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Franchesci tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Randall lets loose with a powerful body kick. Franchesci will feel that in the morning.

Dave Randall showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Randall tries to bum rush Franchesci with a series of wild strikes but Franchesci uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Randall stuffs the takedown attempt from Franchesci. Franchesci gets slowly back to his feet.

Franchesci is trying hard to land a takedown here. Randall sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Randall shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Franchesci but Franchesci pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Franchesci misses with a leg kick.

Randall wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Randall jumps guard but Franchesci turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Randall tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Franchesci just stands there and leans against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Randall is trying to maintain a safe position but Franchesci gets an underhook and turns Randall into the cage.
Alejandro Franchesci has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dave Randall is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Franchesci pushes Randall back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Franchesci throws an elbow but it's blocked.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Dave Randall.
Well Randall has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
