Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pete Lius (ranked 2335 p4p, 345 weight class) and Koh Machino (ranked 3255 p4p, 458 weight class). Pete Lius has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pete Lius! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Koh Machino! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Bart Greer and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good leg kick by Machino there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Machino connects with a right hand. Lius shakes it off. Machino throws out a powerful jab.
It looks like Pete Lius has been cut. Machino slaps away a takedown attempt from Lius, before circling back to the center of the mat. Lius misses with a body punch
and Machino counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Pete Lius seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Machino pushes Lius away with a front kick. Machino lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Lius changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Machino looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Machino tries to get back to half guard but can't. Lius looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Machino looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Lius tries to score with some ground and pound. Machino controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Lius lands a nice forearm strike. Lius has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Machino really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lius. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Lius thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Lius tries for a kimura but Machino is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Machino is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Lius working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Lius misses with the ground and pound. Machino is being controlled here. Lius advances to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lius is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Machino can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Lius scoring with strikes but Machino is staying in there. Lius has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Machino is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Pete Lius! Pete Lius was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
