The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomison lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Aitken will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Thomison sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Aitken fails to land the takedown.
Aitken shoots in for a takedown but Thomison shows good takedown defense.
Josh Thomison has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Laurel Aitken.
Thomison wants to slow Aitken down by chopping away at his legs.

Thomison feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

and Thomison counters with a big slam. Aitken looks out but Thomison is landing strikes to his unconscious opponent! Eventually the ref steps in to save Aitken from any more punishment. A brutal conclusion to the fight!
