Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Elgin Turner (ranked 2009 p4p, 308 weight class) and Marquis Reagent (ranked 3705 p4p, 503 weight class). Turner comes into the arena with wu-tang clan - da mystery of chessboxin' blaring out of the sound system. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Marquis Reagent was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Elgin Turner! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marquis Reagent! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turner keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Turner connects with a nice looking jab.
Turner dips to his left and cracks Reagent with an uppercut! Turner scores with a shot to the body.
Reagent walks into a stiff left hand from Turner. Reagent shoots for a double leg takedown but Turner sprawls well. He's pushed Reagent's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Reagent on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Turner. Turner obviously looking to wear him down.
Turner lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Reagent takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Elgin Turner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice uppercut lands for Turner. That snapped Reagent's head back.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Turner takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Reagent shoots for a double leg takedown but Turner sprawls well. He's pushed Reagent's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Elgin Turner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marquis Reagent. Reagent takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Turner stalks Reagent and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Reagent's face. Reagent staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like Marquis Reagent has been cut. Reagent rushes Turner and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Turner lands with a right to the head. Reagent struggles to land a body shot inside as Turner controls his hands.
Reagent tries a body shot but Turner blocks it.
Reagent throws a punch but it's blocked by Turner. Reagent throws a punch but it's blocked by Turner. Reagent fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Turner breaks from the clinch.
Turner connects with a single shot there. Reagent looks to clinch and Turner cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Reagent decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Turner is refusing to be controlled, as Reagent sits in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Turner is doing well to control the position and prevent Reagent from advancing to side control. Reagent takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Turner's coaches at Razor Sharp Training Systems have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Turner on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Turner tries to get out of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Reagent missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Nice strikes from Reagent there. Reagent working the head and body with strikes. Reagent looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Reagent missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Turner tries to get to full guard but Reagent has control of the leg. Reagent has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Reagent connects with a nice short shot to Turner's temple. Turner is pressing down on Reagent's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Reagent throws a big right hand that misses. Reagent is looking to work some ground and pound but Turner has wrist control. Turner preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Turner looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Reagent with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Turner is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reagent scoring with some ground and pound. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Reagent loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Reagent trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Reagent with a nice head shot there. Turner tries to land a sweep but no joy. Reagent in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Reagent landing some decent shots from guard. Reagent is working Turner over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Turner manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Reagent manages to get himself to full guard.

Reagent looks to move to half guard but instead Turner has passed into mount! Damn!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Turner landing strikes from the mount. Turner controlling from the full mount. Turner raining down shots from the mount! Turner trying to control but Reagent is having none of it. Reagent keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Turner lands with some strikes. Turner tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Elgin Turner dominated that round. The cut man is working on Marquis Reagent's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Reagent misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A counter left hand to the body from Turner misses its target. Reagent doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Turner moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Reagent moves to clinch but Turner breaks away and Turner counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Turner with a body punch. A glancing blow. Turner bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Reagent's head. Turner is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Reagent can do to turn this around? Reagent changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Turner looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Turner holding on. Turner defending against the ground and pound. Reagent working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Turner is looking for a sweep. Turner struggling a bit here.

Reagent lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Turner down.
Turner is trying to control Reagent's posture but Reagent avoids it. Turner tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Reagent wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Reagent connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Turner some visible discomfort.
Reagent in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Reagent postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Turner is trying to maintain the position but Reagent is very close to passing his half guard. Reagent missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Turner makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Turner. Reagent with a flurry of punches that miss. Reagent keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Turner's head. Turner tries to land a sweep but no joy. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Marquis Reagent showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Marquis Reagent's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Turner scores with a jab. Turner fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Reagent has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Turner throws out a loose jab but Reagent uses good head movement to avoid it. Reagent needs to keep his hands up - Turner had a free shot at his head there. Turner scores with a hook to the body. Reagent takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Nice sprawl there from Turner as Reagent shoots in. Reagent tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Turner paws at him with a jab and circles away. Turner throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A punch lands to the side of Reagent 's head but he takes it in his stride. Turner lands a jab to Reagent's midsection. Reagent dives in and grabs Turner's left leg, looking for a takedown. Turner pushes down on Reagent's head and hops out. Marquis Reagent is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A decent looking cross lands there for Turner. Turner comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jab by Turner. Reagent doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Reagent takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reagent tries to close the distance and clinch but Turner swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Reagent drives through and clinches with Turner against the cage.

Turner is leaning against Reagent and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Turner lands a body punch. Turner is struggling to control the position. Turner lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Turner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Reagent gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Turner counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Reagent thinking. Elgin Turner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marquis Reagent. A chopping leg kick lands by Turner. Turner lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Turner connects with an inside leg kick. Turner lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Reagent at a distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Turner lands with an uppercut that bounces Reagent off the cage and back into range. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Turner throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Turner works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Turner scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Reagent walks into a jab. Reagent looks to clinch and Turner counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Reagent is rocked! Elgin Turner is winning the standup battle so far. Turner chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Reagent is still on wobbly legs! Can Turner finish him? Reagent shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Turner makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Reagent seems to have recovered his senses. Turner lands a nice looking body shot.
Turner catches Reagent with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Turner cracks Reagent with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Reagent tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Turner pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Reagent is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Elgin Turner! Elgin Turner retains his welterweight title! Elgin Turner tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
