The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slick closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Brewski tries to pull guard but Slick holds him up against the cage and eventually Brewski drops back down to his feet.

Slick has picked Brewski up - he's going for a ride! Slick dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Brewski wants to get back to full guard.

Brewski looking for submissions off his back.

Slick is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Well, if Slick is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Brewski is looking to control Slick's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Brewski avoid being mounted?
Slick is looking to advance position but Brewski won't allow it.
Brewski wants to control but Slick is keeping busy.

Slick is working for a kimura but Brewski is defending it quite comfortably.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Brewski shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Slick as he avoids it easily.

Brewski is defending against the submission attempts here by Slick.
Slick is taking a breather. Brewski says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Slick is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brewski defends it well.
Slick is breathing heavily.
Brewski looks like he's trying to stand up.
Brewski tries to roll over but Slick keeps him under control.
Brewski is not content to let Slick control the position.

Slick is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Brewski moves into full guard.
Brewski is pulling down on Slick's head. It's preventing any offense from Slick, at least for the moment.

Slick not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brewski lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Slick!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Slick really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Slick is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Brewski has hold of Slick's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Slick manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Brewski looking to ground and pound but Slick is blocking nicely.
Brewski can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Slick is looking to escape.

Brewski looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
