Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Piotr Escovedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Sinclair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Piotr Escovedo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Frank Sinclair!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Dirk Anderson and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Escovedo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sinclair was covering up waiting for the punch and Escovedo finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Escovedo won't allow Sinclair to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Escovedo won't allow Sinclair to get back to his feet.

Escovedo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Escovedo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sinclair is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Escovedo is controlling him.

Sinclair really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Escovedo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sinclair shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Escovedo but Escovedo pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Escovedo drives through and clinches with Sinclair against the cage.
Sinclair has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Sinclair tries to stall but Escovedo uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Escovedo pushes Sinclair off and scrambles back to his feet.
Sinclair throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Escovedo's head.

Escovedo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sinclair gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Escovedo is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Sinclair presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Escovedo is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Sinclair postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Sinclair doesn't manage to clinch there - Escovedo circles away.

Escovedo connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Sinclair changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Escovedo tries to avoid it but Sinclair manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Escovedo to the ground. Escovedo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Escovedo seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Escovedo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sinclair can do to turn this around?
Escovedo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sinclair manages to get himself to full guard.

Sinclair wants to control from the top but Escovedo keeps moving.
Escovedo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sinclair's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sinclair tries to get to full guard but Escovedo has control of the leg.
Escovedo looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Escovedo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Escovedo decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sinclair closes the distance and clinches up with Escovedo, looking for a takedown. Sinclair pushes Escovedo against the cage but Escovedo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Escovedo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
