Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Griffin (ranked 4075 p4p, 538 weight class) and Duane Carman (ranked 3996 p4p, 528 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matt Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Duane Carman!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carman goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Griffin tries to bum rush Carman with a series of wild strikes but Carman uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Griffin avoids a kick to the body.
Carman takes one to the chin there.
Carman swings for the body but Griffin moves out of range.
Griffin scores with a shot to the body.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Griffin - that will leave a mark!
Griffin fails to land with a series of punches.
As Griffin backs off Carman throws a huge counter combo but Griffin manages to avoid it all.
Griffin throws a good cross that connects.
Carman walks forward, straight into a front kick from Griffin.
Griffin scores with a head kick. Carman tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Griffin throws a series of punches but Carman avoids them all with ease.
Carman now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

and Griffin counters with a two punch combo.
Griffin throws a combination. Carman tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Griffin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Griffin lands with a nice combination. Carman backs away looking to recover.

Griffin lands a nice leg kick that just misses Carman's sensitive parts.
Carman pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Griffin throws a big counter combination but Carman scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Matt Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Griffin wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Carman lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
A combination from Carman does no damage.

Griffin clobbers Carman with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Carman tries to keep at a distance but Griffin has taken the fight into the clinch.
Carman throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Griffins head.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Carman tries to land a knee to the head but Griffin blocks with his arms.

Griffin tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Carman smiles and moves away.
Griffin throws a leg kick but Carman sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Carman misses with a jab, cross combination.
Griffin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Griffin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Griffin throws a one two combo.
Griffin misses with a two punch combination.
Griffin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carman tries to avoid it but Griffin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carman to the ground. Carman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Griffin dives in for a single leg takedown but Carman sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Griffin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Carman connects with a good right hand that stumbles Griffin. Griffin circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Griffin has been working on his balance at Hard Knocks Training, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Carman.
Griffin avoids the head kick by Carman.
Griffin looks to land a combination. Carman sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Griffin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
