Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alastair Dunn (ranked 5367 p4p, 663 weight class) and Kyrie Irving (ranked 5396 p4p, 665 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alastair Dunn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kyrie Irving! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dunn walks into a straight right hand from Irving. Dunn gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Irving counters with a stiff right hand. Dunn closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dunn lands in his opponent's guard. Irving keeping full guard, as Dunn tries to pass. Dunn postures up in Irving's guard and throws a big left but Irving blocks it. Irving looking for a sweep. Not yet Irving, not yet. Irving looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Dunn missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Irving is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Dunn showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Irving wants to sweep but no luck. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dunn's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Irving is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Dunn is controlling him well. Dunn moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Dunn misses with an attempted head punch from side control. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Irving is not content to let Dunn control the position. Irving tries to improve position but can't. Irving manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Dunn is looking to take a break and control but Irving is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Irving tries to kick Dunn off but Dunn keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Irving is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Dunn looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Irving with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Irving avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Dunn. Dunn stalling. Dunn missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Irving is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Dunn is figuring out what he wants to do next. Dunn wants to lay and pray for a moment but Irving keeps working. Dunn missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Irving makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Irving. Irving looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Irving is trying to control the position but Dunn postures up. That was a close second round but I would say that Alastair Dunn will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alastair Dunn. That's going to take a lot out of him. Irving misses with a straight left. Irving looks to land a right hand but Dunn moved out of range. Dunn slips a jab and a cross from Irving.
Irving might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Dunn shoots in looking for a takedown but Irving manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dunn's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Dunn shoots for a double leg takedown but Irving sprawls well. He's pushed Dunn's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dunn. Irving looks like he wants to counter punch here. Dunn misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dunn is defended easily by Irving. A nice side step and Irving releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dunn tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Irving swivels and escapes. Dunn drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Irving leaves Dunn with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Dunn looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Dunn throwing shots but Irving is blocking nicely. Irving wants to get back to his feet.
Irving is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Dunn scores with a couple of nice shots. Irving wants to control but Dunn is keeping busy and won't allow it. Dunn trying to pass the guard but Irving defending well. Irving regains full guard. Nicely done.

Irving is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Irving has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dunn is working away from the top position though.
And that's the end of the fight! Kyrie Irving comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Dunn has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
