Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Justin Carpe (ranked 5175 p4p, 465 weight class) and Altintop Palonesess (ranked 22396 p4p, 707 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palonesess closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Palonesess is looking for a kimura but Carpe is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Palonesess to get the leverage.
Palonesess is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Carpe is just riding it out for now. Palonesess eventually gives up the hold.
Palonesess tries to pass the half guard into mount. Carpe knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Palonesess is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Carpe doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Palonesess.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Carpe, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
