Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jewell Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Dante (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruce Dante has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jewell Nelson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruce Dante! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nelson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dante throws out the jab. It looked like Nelson was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Dante darts in and clinches Nelson up against the cage. Nelson is looking for a takedown. Nelson misses with a punch to the body.
Nelson tries to pull guard but Dante forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Nelson pulls guard effortlessly. Nelson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dante is aware though and is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nelson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dante defends it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dante would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Nelson pushes Dante off and gets back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dante lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Dante misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dante scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Dante looks winded! Dante wants to stand but Nelson has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Nelson is looking for a sweep. Dante is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Nelson looks like he's trying to stand up.
Nelson manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Dante keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nelson tries to pull guard but Dante forces him back to his feet, against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jewell Nelson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nelson is trying to pull guard but Dante turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Nelson wants a takedown but no success here.
Dante wants to break free but Nelson has control.

Nelson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dante walks away with a smile on his face. Nelson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dante misses with the combination.
Horrible takedown attempt by Nelson or perhaps it was just good defense by Dante, which made it look bad. Dante changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dante drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Nelson has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Dante off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Dante rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Nelson moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Nelson is looking for a counter combo. Horrible takedown attempt by Nelson or perhaps it was just good defense by Dante, which made it look bad. And Dante tries to counter it with a takedown but Nelson pushes his down on his head and steps out. Nelson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
It seemed like Dante was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Nelson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Dante is trying to defend but Nelson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nelson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dante wants to get back to full guard but Nelson has passed into side control. Nelson working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Nelson is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Dante's shoulder. That is not cool. Dante tries to buck Nelson off but Nelson is having none of it. Nelson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Nelson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dante has escaped the position, nice work there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jewell Nelson dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Dante moves into the clinch. Nelson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Nelson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dante defends well. Nelson looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Dante passes into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nelson tries to improve position but can't. Dante is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nelson can't do much from the bottom here. Dante wants to control but Nelson is keeping him busy. Nelson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Nelson keeps Dante under control for a moment. Nelson is not content to let Dante control the position. Dante might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Nelson haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Nelson sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Dante working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Nelson's thigh. Nelson counters though and makes it back to full guard. Nelson wants to stand but Dante is controlling the position. Nelson trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Nelson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dante gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Nelson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dante drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Nelson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dante has Nelson in his guard. Nelson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dante's head. Dante wants to sweep but no luck.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Nelson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Nelson chips away with some ground and pound. Dante bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Nelson's guard. Nelson throws a couple of heel strikes.
Nelson is looking for a triangle but Dante pushes his legs off easily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dante wants to control from the top but Nelson keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jewell Nelson dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Dante takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Nelson gets caught flat footed, as Dante shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The fighters are working up against the cage. Nelson manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Dante taking a breather. Nelson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Nelson looking for a guillotine here but Dante defends easily.
Nelson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Jewell Nelson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dante trying to land knees to the body.
And that's the end of the fight! Jewell Nelson showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nelson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
