Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between JD Dayley (ranked 10137 p4p, 639 weight class) and Wasyl Plutov (ranked 24006 p4p, 686 weight class). Wasyl Plutov told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Wasyl Plutov!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Plutov misses with a leg kick
and Dayley counters with a single leg into guard. Plutov didn't expect that.

Plutov has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Dayley is landing a low percentage of strikes.

and Dayley counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dayley bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Plutov's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Plutov lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dayley circles away quickly and effectively.
It looked like Dayley was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Plutov.

Dayley is taking a breather. Plutov says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Dayley seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Plutov for as long as he can get away with.
