Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Baker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Slade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slade has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Frank Baker has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Slade! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Slade with a jab. Slade ducks under a wild hook from Baker. Baker scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Slade is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Baker's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Baker's back! Baker tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Slade looks gassed! Slade prevents Baker from getting the reversal. Slade looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Baker is looking to improve his position but Slade isn't that keen on the idea. Baker slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Baker regains full guard. Nicely done. Baker bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Slade's guard. Baker forces his way into half guard. Baker looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baker lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Slade tries to get to full guard but Baker has control of the leg. Baker is taking a breather. Slade says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Baker slips a nice elbow through Slade's hands, connecting with Slade's forehead. Baker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Well, if Baker is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Slade is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Baker in particular looking to stall.
