Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bon Odori!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bruce Hardman!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardman pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A left and a right from Odori both land. Nice combination.
Odori's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hardman connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Odori scrambles back to his feet.
Hardman looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Odori swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Odori connects with a looping right hand.
Hardman fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Odori looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Hardman misses with a body shot.
Hardman lands a jab to Odori's midsection.
Odori stuns Hardman with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Hardman takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hardman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Odori.
Hardman throws out a counter right but Odori avoids it with no problem.
Hardman takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Odori lands with a good body shot.
Odori fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hardman.
Odori checks the leg kick.
Hardman misses with an attempted mid kick.
Odori lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Odori ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Bruce Hardman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Odori connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hardman's hands.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hardman on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Hardman throws a leg kick but Odori sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Hardman goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Odori ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Hardman on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Hardman takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Hardman throws a head kick that misses.
Odori lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Odori connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Odori lands with a shot to the body.
Hardman looks winded!
Odori lands a slapping body shot.
Decent striking displayed by Odori there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Odori lands a nice leg kick that just misses Hardman's sensitive parts.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hardman has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Odori lands a left and a right that send Hardman crashing to the mat, dazed. Odori thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like Bruce Hardman has been cut.
Hardman swings and misses with a shot to the body
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Odori cracks Hardman with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Hardman looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Odori finish him?

Odori changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Odori dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Odori slips under a jab from Hardman.
Odori was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Odori lands with an overhand left.
Odori avoids a kick to the body.
Hardman misses with a low kick.

Odori slips under a jab from Hardman.
Odori is looking to counter punch.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Odori. Hardman shrugs it off though.

Hardman on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Odori cracks Hardman with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Odori has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Hardman to stand back up!
Hardman is still on wobbly legs! Can Odori finish him?
Hardman scores with a jab. Odori acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Hardman seems to have recovered his senses.
Hardman looks up at the clock. Bad move! Odori lands a right hand from hell, dropping Hardman. Odori pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bon Odori!
