Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carlton Lassiter (ranked 2220 p4p, 244 weight class) and Bobby Bianchi (ranked 10034 p4p, 624 weight class). Bobby Bianchi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Carlton Lassiter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bobby Bianchi! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Chris Saunders and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lassiter tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bianchi swivels and escapes. Lassiter slips under a jab from Bianchi. Bianchi throws an overhand right that lands on Lassiter's shoulder, as Lassiter tries to avoid the shot. Lassiter pivots, looking for a leg kick but Bianchi is out of range and Lassiter settles back down. Lassiter buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Lassiter throws a low kick but Bianchi moves out of range easily. Bianchi misses with a straight left. Bianchi takes a swing at Lassiter's ribcage but misses. Lassiter changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. An inside leg kick lands from Lassiter. Bianchi jabs at Lassiter's body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Bianchi checks a leg kick. It seemed like Bianchi was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Lassiter throws a hook but Bianchi avoids it easily. Bianchi scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Lassiter avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Lassiter uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bianchi.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bianchi misses with a straight right. Lassiter drops down looking for a counter takedown but Bianchi sprawls and moves away. Bianchi jabbing away but nothing is landing. Lassiter has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Furnace in the buildup to the fight. Carlton Lassiter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lassiter waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Bianchi. Lassiter misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Lassiter tried to score with a low kick but Bianchi checks it. Bianchi is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Lassiter with a body shot. Lassiter darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Lassiter winds up and cracks Bianchi with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Lassiter scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Lassiter prevents Bianchi from standing back up.
Bianchi is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Lassiter scores with a couple of nice shots. Lassiter prevents Bianchi from standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lassiter trying to mount his opponent but Bianchi defends it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bianchi taking some punishment here, with Lassiter in his half guard. Bianchi is looking to escape. Lassiter working over Bianchi with some ground and pound. Bianchi looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bianchi is trying to stand.
Lassiter is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Bianchi is trying to stand back up but Lassiter is controlling him
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lassiter connects with a nice short shot to Bianchi's temple. Bianchi looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Lassiter frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Bianchi wants to try and get back to his feet. Lassiter scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Bianchi?
Lassiter with shots to the head and body - Bianchi looks very uncomfortable down there.
Bianchi is rocked! Lassiter cracks Bianchi with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carlton Lassiter! Carlton Lassiter decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
