The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bokhorst ducks under a wild hook from Kersikov. Bokhorst avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Kersikov takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Bokhorst tries to land a front kick but Kersikov steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Kersikov fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Bokhorst takes a swing at Kersikov's ribcage but misses. Kersikov scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kersikov working away. Kersikov controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bokhorst tries to bench press Kersikov off him but Kersikov keeps the position. The referee asks Kersikov politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Kersikov prefers to stall for the moment though. Bokhorst is not content to let Kersikov control the position. Bokhorst is trying to escape the position but Kersikov is controlling the position. Bokhorst wants to control but Kersikov postures up. Kersikov content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kersikov is looking to take a break and control but Bokhorst is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Kersikov throws a leg kick but Bokhorst sees it coming and moves out of range. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Bokhorst, right into the meat.
Some bone on bone action there as Kersikov checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Bokhorst tries to work over Kersikov's front leg with a kick but Kersikov checks it. Kersikov takes a body punch but keeps moving. Bokhorst is looking to score with low kicks. Kersikov defending well as Bokhorst loads up on a big left hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bokhorst misses with a lunging right hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Kersikov misses with a looping right. Bokhorst comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Bokhorst takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Bokhorst throws a leg kick and Kersikov cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Bokhorst uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kersikov. An attempted straight right counter from Bokhorst misses the target. Kersikov throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kersikov is looking to clinch but Bokhorst is avoiding it.
Bokhorst does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Kersikov tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Kersikov misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kersikov takes a jab right on the kisser.
A punch combination from Kersikov misses. Donk. Kersikov catches Bokhorst right on the button with a cross. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bokhorst misses with the combination.
Kersikov takes a shot to the body in his stride.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kersikov needs to keep his hands up - Bokhorst had a free shot at his head there. Kersikov slips a jab from Bokhorst. Kersikov with the counter takedown but Bokhorst avoids it easily. Bokhorst takes a swing at Kersikov's ribcage but misses. Kersikov shoots in for a takedown but Bokhorst shows good takedown defense. Kersikov throws a chopping leg kick but Bokhorst manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Bokhorst drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kersikov sprawls and moves away. Kersikov throws out a loose jab but Bokhorst uses good head movement to avoid it. Bokhorst looks to land a left hand but Kersikov moved out of range nicely. Kersikov misses with a body kick. Bokhorst on the wrong end of a nice hook. A bone on bone clash there as Bokhorst blocks the leg kick.
Bokhorst leaves Kersikov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Bokhorst slips a jab from Kersikov. Kersikov shoots for a takedown but Bokhorst saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Maarten Bokhorst has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Boyko Kersikov. Bokhorst misses with a wild body shot. Bokhorst feints and then cracks Kersikov's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kersikov down. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Boyko Kersikov dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Kersikov looks to score with a jab to the body but Bokhorst is just out of range. Kersikov misses the shot to the body. Kersikov shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Kersikov scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Bokhorst is looking for a sweep. Bokhorst being controlled for a moment. Kersikov looking to control but instead Bokhorst has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bokhorst is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Kersikov is tapping! Great win for Bokhorst!
