Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ma Moru!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Diego Gaspar!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Moru taking a breather.
Gaspar tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Moru just stands there and leans against the cage.
Gaspar tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Gaspar tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Moru smiles and moves away.
Moru lands a slapping body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Moru tries a body shot but Gaspar blocks it.
A head punch on the inside from Moru fails to land.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gaspar controlling the action here for a moment.
Moru content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Gaspar pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Gaspar prevents a body shot from Moru.
Gaspar jumps guard but Moru stands there with Gaspar around his waist. Gaspar gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Ma Moru has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Diego Gaspar.
Moru content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Moru tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Gaspar's elbow.
Moru avoids the elbow strike from Gaspar, against the cage.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Moru.

Moru throws a punch but it's blocked by Gaspar.
Gaspar tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Moru smiles and moves away.
Moru misses with a jab, cross combination.

Gaspar has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Moru finds it's way round the side to connect with Gaspar's head.
Moru closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Gaspar has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Moru seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Gaspar can turn it around.
Moru will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Gaspar up against the cage.
Moru misses with a body punch.
Moru lands a shot to the body.

Moru doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Moru is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Gaspar decides to pull guard.
Gaspar has Moru pulled in close to control his posture.
Gaspar working for a triangle but Moru defends it easily.
Gaspar had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Moru defends it easily.

Gaspar is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Moru defends well.
Moru wants to get up but he can't break Gaspar's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gaspar tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Gaspar pushes a forearm under Moru's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Moru is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
