Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sampson Shain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dan McAdams! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McAdams misses with a lunging right hand
enabling Shain to counter with a crisp jab. Shain avoids the body shot from McAdams.
McAdams smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. McAdams misses with a hook. Shain ducked under it nicely. McAdams pushing out the jab but it's not landing. McAdams lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Shain displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as McAdams throws out the jab. McAdams is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Shain. McAdams moves out of range of the strikes. McAdams takes one to the chin there. McAdams throws a leg kick that is checked and Shain cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. A big right from Shain misses. McAdams throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Shain counters with a straight right hand. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that McAdams has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Shain throws a leg kick but McAdams sees it coming and checks it nicely. McAdams misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Shain.

McAdams slips under a jab. McAdams throws a poor cross that misses
and Shain counters with a head kick. That will keep McAdams thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
That's one minute gone in the round. McAdams looking for a takedown here - he's got it. McAdams passes Shain's left leg - he's now in half guard. McAdams performing his best blanket impression for a moment. McAdams trying to mount his opponent but Shain defends it. McAdams is keen to just control but Shain is a slippery customer. McAdams controlling the pace. McAdams seems to be looking for submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McAdams is trying to control the action in half guard but Shain is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. McAdams in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Shain tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from McAdams!
