Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elias Manchinha (ranked 1170 p4p, 183 weight class) and Sasha Downdin (ranked 1347 p4p, 202 weight class). Manchinha comes to the cage accompanied by Courage. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Elias Manchinha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sasha Downdin!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Downdin throws a lazy uppercut
and Manchinha counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Downdin moves out of range as Manchinha strikes.
Downdin throws a hook to the side of Manchinha's head but Manchinha sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Downdin with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Manchinha shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Manchinha has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Downdin finds it's way round the side to connect with Manchinha's head.
Downdin gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Manchinha counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Downdin misses with an uppercut
and Manchinha cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Downdin pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Downdin dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Manchinha. That did some damage!
Downdin comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

It looked like Manchinha was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

enabling Manchinha to counter with a crisp jab.

and Manchinha cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Manchinha takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Downdin lunges at Manchinha with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Manchinha's hand.
Manchinha is rocked!
Downdin misses with a hook. Manchinha ducked under it nicely.
Manchinha is looking to counter punch.
Downdin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Manchinha.
Downdin falls off balance throwing a combination
and Manchinha counters with a nice uppercut.
Downdin looks to throw a body kick
letting Manchinha counter with a right hand.
Downdin throws a lazy head kick
and Manchinha cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Manchinha is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Downdin wants to slow Manchinha down by chopping away at his legs.
Downdin misses with an attempted mid kick.
It looked like Manchinha was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Downdin.
Manchinha is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Downdin scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Oh Manchinha is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Downdin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Manchinha is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Manchinha keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Downdin.
Downdin lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Manchinha head around and knocks him out cold! Downdin hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sasha Downdin!
An out of breath Sasha Downdin thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
