Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Slater Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesus Killam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas comes to the cage accompanied by "Fight Music" by D12. Slater Thomas had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 206.7lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Slater Thomas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jesus Killam! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomas clinches with his opponent.
Thomas turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Killam sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Thomas thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Killam is trying to control but can't.
Thomas is looking to stall here but Killam recovers full guard. Killam working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thomas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thomas manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Thomas is fighting to break Killam's control of his arms but Killam is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Killam not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Thomas could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Killam pulls Thomas in close to prevent any damage. Killam wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Thomas trying to control but Killam is working from the bottom. Thomas controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Killam trying to keep a closed guard but Thomas is proving a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Thomas scores with a three punch combo!
Thomas gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Killam is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Thomas is keeping busy. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Thomas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Thomas stuffs the takedown attempt from Killam. Killam gets slowly back to his feet. Thomas shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Thomas controlling from mount. Killam is working to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thomas tries to control but Killam wriggling away. Killam tries to hold on but Thomas postures up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Slater Thomas dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Thomas closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Thomas lands in his opponent's guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Killam holds on and takes a little breather. Killam controls Thomas momentarily but Thomas frees himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Killam controls Thomas momentarily but Thomas frees himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thomas trying to control but Killam is working from the bottom. Thomas lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Killam is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Thomas looking to sit in guard and control but Killam gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Thomas wants to get back to his feet but Killam passes into half guard.
Killam seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Thomas does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Killam seems content to control.
Despite being in the dominant position, Jesus Killam just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Killam blocks a head kick by Thomas.
Thomas shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Killam somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet! Slater Thomas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Killam throws a combination that misses and Thomas counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Killam looks like he's trying to stand up.
Killam wants to get back to full guard but Thomas has passed into side control. Killam tries to hold on but Thomas postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Killam is trying to escape the mount.

Slater Thomas dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Thomas shoots in for a takedown but Killam shows good takedown defense. Thomas misses with a takedown and Killam counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Killam throwing shots but Thomas is blocking nicely. Killam perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Killam wants to lay and pray for a moment but Thomas keeps working. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Killam is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's one minute gone in the round. Killam passes to side control. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Killam working the ground and pound from side control. Killam trying to control the position but Thomas is working away. A lull in the action here. Killam in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thomas is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Killam's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Killam is keen to just control but Thomas is a slippery customer.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Thomas wants to control from the top but Killam keeps moving. Thomas controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Killam has a closed guard, preventing Thomas from standing up. Thomas trying to control but Killam is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Jesus Killam comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Thomas has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
