Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roger Theodore (ranked 5498 p4p, 605 weight class) and Ari Ahikaroa (ranked 8011 p4p, 723 weight class). Roger Theodore is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roger Theodore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ari Ahikaroa!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ahikaroa shoots in looking for a takedown. Theodore tries to sprawl out of it but Ahikaroa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Theodore manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ahikaroa fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Theodore to the ground. Ahikaroa is now in Theodore's guard.
Theodore wants to sweep here but Ahikaroa controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Theodore is working hard here to advance position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Theodore is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Theodore is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ahikaroa is controlling him.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ahikaroa clinches up with Theodore and pushes him back against the cage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Theodore is trying to force a seperation but Ahikaroa has the dominant position.
Ahikaroa throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Ahikaroa has picked Theodore up - he's going for a ride! Ahikaroa dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Ahikaroa wants to work for an arm triangle but Theodore is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ahikaroa connects with a nice short shot to Theodore's temple.
Theodore is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ahikaroa lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Ahikaroa stops Theodore from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ahikaroa is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Ahikaroa content to control rather than advance.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Theodore wants to control but Ahikaroa is having none of it.
Theodore is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
It looks like Ahikaroa might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ari Ahikaroa dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Ahikaroa shoots in looking for a takedown but Theodore manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ahikaroa's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Theodore fails with an attempt to clinch.
Roger Theodore is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ahikaroa moves into the clinch.
Theodore goes for a takedown in the clinch but Ahikaroa prevents it.
Ahikaroa lands a takedown into guard.
Theodore pushes Ahikaroa off and gets back to his feet.
Theodore throws a jab when Ahikaroa was well out of range.
Ahikaroa wants to counter with a clinch but Theodore pushes him away.

Theodore gets tackled into the cage by Ahikaroa. Ahikaroa maintains the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Ahikaroa obliges.

Ari Ahikaroa has got the better of the ground game so far.

Ahikaroa is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Theodore is aware though and is defending well.
Ahikaroa lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Theodore tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ahikaroa paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Theodore is trying to pull guard but Ahikaroa turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Ahikaroa pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Ahikaroa throws a leg kick but Theodore moved away.
Theodore dives in and grabs Ahikaroa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ahikaroa pushes down on Theodore's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roger Theodore. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ahikaroa darts in and clinches Theodore up against the cage.
Ahikaroa breaks from the clinch.
Ahikaroa throws a leg kick but Theodore moved away.

Theodore tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ahikaroa swivels and escapes.

Theodore jumps guard but Ahikaroa turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Theodore tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
A frustrated look appears on Theodore's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Ahikaroa is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Theodore got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ahikaroa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Theodore has managed to get both his arms back between Ahikaroa's legs - danger averted.

Ahikaroa is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Theodore frees his head nicely. Oh but Ahikaroa has switched to an armbar! Theodore is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
