Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Android Eighteen ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jon Johnson! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Winston Howard and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eighteen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Johnson's waist but Johnson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Eighteen off to one side. Johnson's corner calls for a 1-2. Johnson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Eighteen shoots in for a double leg but Johnson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. The fight moves into the clinch position. A short right from Johnson. Eighteen is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Android Eighteen . That's going to take a lot out of him. Eighteen is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Johnson gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Johnson lands a hook to the side of the head. Eighteen gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Eighteen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Eighteen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Johnson pushes Eighteen off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. This has been an exciting period of action! Johnson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Eighteen is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Johnson pulls him back up using the underhooks. Johnson lands a right hand that snaps the head of Eighteen backwards. Johnson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Eighteen goes for a takedown attempt but Johnson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Eighteen . Johnson pushes Eighteen up against the ropes in a clinch. Johnson throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Eighteen s head. With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Johnson creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Johnson lands with a light punch inside.
Eighteen is rocked! Eighteen has Johnson pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Johnson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Oh Eighteen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Johnson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Johnson has closed the distance and engaged Eighteen in a clinch.
A short uppercut from Johnson. Johnson pushes Eighteen against the ropes. Johnson is working some dirty boxing. Johnson pushes off with a quick right hook! Eighteen goes down! Eighteen tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Johnson moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
