Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Buchanan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Piotr Mazur!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buchanan blocks a low kick nicely.
Buchanan fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Buchanan has a takedown stuffed.
Mazur feints the counter takedown.
Mazur tries a head kick but it misses.
A quick step to the side and Buchanan tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Buchanan shoots in for a double leg but Mazur sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Buchanan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Buchanan keeps the fight on the outside.
It looked like Buchanan was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mazur looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Buchanan wants to get back to full guard.
Buchanan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Mazur is controlling the pace.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mazur working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Mazur trying to pass the guard but Buchanan defending well.
Mazur has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Mazur stands up out of the half guard.
Buchanan keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Buchanan is looking to counter with head kicks.

Mazur shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Buchanan's guard.

Buchanan is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Mazur presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Mazur gets a trip takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mazur looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Buchanan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mazur content to control rather than advance.
Buchanan tries to roll over but Mazur keeps him under control.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mazur lands a nice short elbow.
Buchanan looks like he's trying to stand up.
Mazur seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Buchanan wants to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Mazur decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Both fighters circling a little - Mazur finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Mazur wants to clinch.

Mazur scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Mazur tries to pass the half guard into mount. Buchanan knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Buchanan tries to roll over but Mazur keeps him under control.
Mazur content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Mazur escapes and gets back to his feet.

Mazur closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Buchanan to the mat! Buchanan manages to get full guard.
Mazur looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Piotr Mazur dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Danga de danga de dang - Mazur scores with a four punch combination!


It looks like George Buchanan has been cut.
Mazur throws a shot to the body.
Buchanan blocks a head kick by Mazur.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Mazur.

Mazur has hold of Buchanan's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Buchanan seems comfortable defending it but Mazur has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Buchanan is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Buchanan is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Mazur couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Piotr Mazur!
