Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Green (ranked 2288 p4p, 353 weight class) and Jean Yves Cachemaille (ranked 1833 p4p, 281 weight class). Green's entrance music is Boom Boom. A fine choice. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paul Green! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Jean Yves Cachemaille! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cachemaille misses with a hook. Green attempts a counter takedown but Cachemaille avoids it well and moves away. Green walks into a jab. Cachemaille throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Green looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cachemaille desperately trying to maintain half guard. Cachemaille regains full guard. Nicely done. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cachemaille managing to control the position. Green wants to control from the top but Cachemaille keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cachemaille is controlling Green's posture. Green gets to his feet - Cachemaille follows without any prompting. Green takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Cachemaille lands a jab. Green darts in looking for a takedown but Cachemaille gets double underhooks and turns Green into the cage. Cachemaille has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Green decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Green decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Green tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cachemaille paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cachemaille throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cachemaille gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Green to score an easy takedown into full guard. Cachemaille wants to sweep here but Green controlling him for the moment. Green is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Green is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Cachemaille trying to control the position here.

Green stands up from Cachemaille's guard - Green perhaps looking for a knockout. Cachemaille misses with a wild body shot. A looping hook to the body misses from Cachemaille. Green does a little dance to reset his feet. It looked like Green was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Jab, jab by Cachemaille - just one landing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Green shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cachemaille as he avoids it easily. Cachemaille throws a leg kick that misses. Jean Yves Cachemaille seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cachemaille throws a leg kick but Green sees it coming and moves out of range. Jean Yves Cachemaille is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Cachemaille gets in close and instigates a clinch. Green manages to pull guard.

Jean Yves Cachemaille dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Green fails with the takedown and Cachemaille makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Green tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cachemaille swivels and escapes. Green dives in for a single leg takedown but Cachemaille sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Green. That's going to take a lot out of him. Green wants to clinch. Cachemaille stuffs the takedown attempt from Green. Green gets slowly back to his feet. Green tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cachemaille sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Green somewhat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A telegraphed right hand from Cachemaille misses the target. Cachemaille has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Cachemaille throws a low kick but it's checked well by Green. Cachemaille attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Green walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Jean Yves Cachemaille seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice shot by Green. Green shoots in but Cachemaille avoids the takedown attempt easily. Green connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Cachemaille throws a lazy right hand but Green sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Green darts in looking for a takedown but Cachemaille gets double underhooks and turns Green into the cage. A big left from Cachemaille misses. Cachemaille defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Green. It seemed like Cachemaille was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Cachemaille avoids the head kick by Green.
Cachemaille scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Green shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cachemaille sprawls well. Cachemaille wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Green gets slowly back to his feet. Green changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cachemaille tries to avoid it but Green manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cachemaille to the ground. Cachemaille escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Green takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Green shoots in looking for a takedown. Cachemaille tries to sprawl out of it but Green keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cachemaille manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Green looks for the body kick but Cachemaille saw that one coming. Cachemaille stalks Green and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Green's face. Green staggers backwards, shaken. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cachemaille fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

enabling Cachemaille to counter with a crisp jab. Cachemaille throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Green. Green is looking to counter the offense by Cachemaille and move into the clinch. A kick lands to the mid section there for Cachemaille. Green slips under a jab. Green shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Green showed some decent athleticism there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cachemaille keeping hold of Green's head, controlling as best he can.

Green is stalling here. Cachemaille is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Green seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Cachemaille has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Cachemaille decides to stand back up. Cachemaille steps back and let's Green get back to his feet. A lazy left from Cachemaille finds it's target. Cachemaille moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Green moves into range and clinches up with Cachemaille. Green drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Cachemaille gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Cachemaille as Green tries to tie him up. Cachemaille misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Green tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Cachemaille's elbow. Cachemaille leaning his opponent against the cage. Green turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Green manages to end up in side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cachemaille is looking for a sweep. Green creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Cachemaille sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Cachemaille manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Cachemaille postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Green to stand up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jean Yves Cachemaille showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Green dives in and grabs Cachemaille's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cachemaille pushes down on Green's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Green. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cachemaille scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Good exchange - Cachemaille coming out on top. Green misses with a takedown attempt and Cachemaille counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Green thinking. Cachemaille works Green's body with a nice hook. Cachemaille feints a jab promting Green to slip. Cachemaille then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Green slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Green is rocked! Green moves in looking to clinch but Cachemaille pushes him off. Cachemaille lands a brutal head kick. Green looks out on his feet and Cachemaille throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!

An out of breath Jean Yves Cachemaille thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
