Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Boogie Knight (ranked 2080 p4p, 322 weight class) and Desmond Glass (ranked 1022 p4p, 158 weight class). Glass has chosen Across 110th Street by Bobby Womack as his entrance music. Boogie Knight had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Boogie Knight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Desmond Glass!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Knight fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Glass, pushing him back against the cage.
A nice left hand lands by Glass.
Glass throws a knee to the head but misses.

Knight gets control of Glass's arms and successfully pulls guard. Knight will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Glass has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Knight is proving hard to escape from.
Knight seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Glass must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Glass stands and steps away. Knight gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

That kick from Knight tenderised Glass's leg. Glass is trying to keep his angry face on.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Glass felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Knight is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Glass doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Knight.

It looked like Knight was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Glass lunges at Knight with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Knight's hand.
Knight moves out of range of the body kick from Glass.

Glass lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Knight shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Glass pinned against the cage. Glass gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Knight looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Knight stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Glass.

Desmond Glass showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!


Glass jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Glass fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Knight on the side of the head.
Glass throws a low kick, looking for Knight's leg but Knight calmly moves out of range.

Knight has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Glass finds it's way round the side to connect with Knight's head.
Glass leaves Knight with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
