Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Long (ranked 23320 p4p, 0 weight class) and Short Low (ranked 5301 p4p, 0 weight class). Low has chosen Short People as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Short Low enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brandon Long! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Short Low! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, David Schapiro and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Long tries to clinch but Low moves out of range. Long tries to close the distance and clinch up but Low swats him away and circles back towards the center. Long is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Low. Low connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Long throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Low counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Low. Low with a nice head shot there. Long looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Low passes into half guard.
Low lands with a punch from half guard. Low thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Long's head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Long trying to control from the bottom.
Low trying to control the action but Long is working from the bottom. Low working over Long with some ground and pound. Long looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Low is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Long defends it well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Low working Long over with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Low takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Long has hold of Low's hands but Low slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Low looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Long with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Low takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Low working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Low working over Long with some ground and pound. Long looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Low drops an elbow to the side of Long's head. Long has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Low is working away from the top position though. Low is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Low lands strikes from half guard. Low seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Low works his foot free and advances to mount. Low has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Low lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Low is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Long can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Low working Long over with strikes here. Long is in all sorts of trouble here.
Low lands a big elbow. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Low breaks from Long's wrist control and lands an elbow. Low postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Long bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Low and the fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Short Low! Short Low tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
