The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baller fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Baller fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Baller shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dean but Dean pushes him off and we're back to square one. Josh Dean has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Baller. Dean shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! Baller escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dean gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Dean content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Baller has a closed guard, preventing Dean from standing up. Dean avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Baller has his foot on Dean's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dean works his way back into a safe position though. Baller has an active guard here but Dean has managed to pass into half guard.

Baller has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dean can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Baller gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Dean counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Dean. Baller keeping moving, preventing Dean from controlling successfully. Baller had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Dean is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Baller Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Dean's back instead. Baller looking for the choke from the back. Dean rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Baller in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Dean tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Baller!
