Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eric Anderson (ranked 4331 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Irvin (ranked 5508 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Anderson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Guillotine. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Irvin! The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Bruno Hogan and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Irvin avoids a punch combination nicely.
Irvin walks into a left hand. Anderson misses with an attempted mid kick.
Anderson moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromIrvin. Irvin is looking to clinch but Anderson is avoiding it.
Anderson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Anderson lands a jab to the nose. Eric Anderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Anderson misses with a series of wild punches.
Irvin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Anderson sprawls well. Anderson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Irvin gets slowly back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anderson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Irvin is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Anderson goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Anderson pushes Irvin up against the cage in a clinch. Irvin tries to break free but Anderson pushes him back against the cage. Anderson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Irvin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Anderson keeps the fight on the outside. Anderson looks to land a combination. Irvin sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Irvin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Anderson defends it nicely. Eric Anderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Irvin. Anderson takes a swing at Irvin's ribcage but misses. Danga de danga de dang - Anderson scores with a four punch combination! A combination from Anderson does no damage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Irvin dives in for a single leg takedown but Anderson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. As Irvin looks to move away, Anderson throws a big counter combo but Irvin just gets out of the way. Irvin is looking to chop away at Anderson's legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Horrible takedown attempt by Irvin or perhaps it was just good defense by Anderson, which made it look bad. Anderson lands with a good body shot. Irvin avoids a punch combination nicely.
Anderson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Anderson's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Anderson duly obliges. Anderson is looking to wear down Irvin with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Anderson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Irvin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. We've been informed that Irvin has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Anderson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Irvin has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Anderson uses from the top position. Anderson wanted to stand there but Irvin had control of the position. Irvin throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Irvin is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Anderson has his hands clasped together but Irvin extends and breaks Anderson's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Irvin.

A relieved looking Paul Irvin thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
