Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Locker Arm! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jeff Hudson! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Roberts and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hudson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Arm is concentrating on defense, preventing Hudson from advancing position. Arm is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hudson seems to be working for a kimura but Arm defends the submission attempt. Hudson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Hudson controlling the pace. Hudson missing with the ground and pound from half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Arm is staying active underneath Hudson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Hudson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Arm wants to control but Hudson is keeping busy and won't allow it. Hudson slips a nice elbow through Arm's hands, connecting with Arm's forehead. Arm trying to hold on to Hudson's head to control him but Hudson postures up.
Hudson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Arm is just riding it out for now. Hudson eventually gives up the hold. Hudson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Hudson prevents Arm from improving his position. Hudson is looking for submissions but instead, Arm has regained full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hudson throws an elbow that misses. Arm uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hudson's guard. Nice move by Arm!
Arm avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hudson looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Arm is defending well. Hudson quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Arm has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Hudson celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jeff Hudson! Jeff Hudson was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
