The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cross wants to clinch.
Beck looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Beck misses with a body shot
and Cross counters with a one-two to the body.
Beck throws a poor cross that misses
and Beck takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

It looks like Hans Beck has been cut.
Beck delivers a nice body kick.
Beck displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cross throws out the jab.
Cross has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A looping hook to the body misses from Beck. Cross does a little dance to reset his feet.

Beck tries to land a front kick but Cross steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Cross misses with a wild body shot.
A countering left hand to the body from Beck misses.
Cross keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cross takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Cross throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Beck cracks Cross with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Cross looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Beck finish him?

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cross throws a lazy uppercut
and Beck scores with a counter punch that sends Cross to the canvas! Beck smells blood - he's punishing Cross with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Cross has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Hans Beck decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
