Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
ONeill closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into LaPlante's guard.
LaPlante is looking to stand up but ONeill isn't so interested in that idea.

ONeill stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. LaPlante swivels though and keeps the full guard.

ONeill is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
ONeill chips away with some ground and pound.
LaPlante wants to get back to his feet but ONeill passes into half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

ONeill has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can LaPlante defend it? ONeill steps over the head and cranks it - LaPlante is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for ONeill!

After winning the bout, Ed ONeill thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
