The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elwood closes the distance and clinches.
Elwood scores with a shot to the side of Pettis's head.
Elwood misses with a punch on the inside.
A head punch on the inside from Pettis fails to land.
Pettis blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Pettis throws a head punch that misses.
Elwood scores with a shoulder strike.
Elwood just leaning against Pettis, taking a breather.
Elwood escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Elwood lands with a thumping leg kick.
Elwood lands with a hook. Pettis tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Elwood throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pettis.
Elwood and Pettis are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Elwood throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Pettis into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Elwood knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jake Elwood!
A relieved looking Jake Elwood thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
