Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ruslan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rusty Kulikovo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ruslan Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rusty Kulikovo!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith lands the left hand.
It looks like Rusty Kulikovo has been cut.
Ruslan Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kulikovo shoots in looking for a takedown. Smith tries to sprawl out of it but Kulikovo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smith manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The fight stays on the outside here - Smith looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kulikovo shoots for a takedown but Smith saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kulikovo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Smith wants to sweep here but Kulikovo controlling him for the moment.

Kulikovo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smith can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Smith looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Smith seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kulikovo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Smith tries to stand but can't do so whilst Kulikovo controls his leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Kulikovo actively working from the bottom here.
Smith stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kulikovo swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Smith has managed to clinch.
Smith jumps guard but Kulikovo stands there with Smith around his waist. Smith gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Smith wants the takedown. Kulikovo is fighting it off but Smith persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Kulikovo's guard against the cage.
Smith wants to stand but Kulikovo is controlling his posture from full guard.

Smith is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Smith has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Smith avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kulikovo is looking for a triangle here but Smith uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Smith tries to close the distance and clinch but Kulikovo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Smith connects with a nice short shot to Kulikovo's temple.
Smith is controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith wants to free his trapped foot but Kulikovo is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Kulikovo is breathing heavily.

Smith tries to stand but can't do so whilst Kulikovo controls his leg.
Smith looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Kulikovo is looking to improve his position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Smith not doing much here.
Smith stops Kulikovo from getting back to his feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Smith tries to clinch but Kulikovo is having none of it.
Kulikovo shoots in but no luck this time.
Smith fails with the takedown
and Kulikovo counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Smith keeping hold of Kulikovo's head, controlling as best he can.
Kulikovo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Smith moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Smith seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Kulikovo trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kulikovo drops back, looking for a kneebar! Smith looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Smith looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Smith!
Kulikovo tries to bench press Smith off him but Smith keeps the position.
Smith decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kulikovo to his feet.
Smith clinches up with Kulikovo and pushes him back against the cage.
Smith tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kulikovo smiles and moves away.
Smith is looking to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Rusty Kulikovo will probably get the nod - 10:9.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kulikovo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Smith as he avoids it easily.
