Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johnie Serrano (ranked 25063 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Navy (ranked 6638 p4p, 664 weight class). Jay Navy will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnie Serrano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Navy!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Bruno Lombardi and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Navy moves to clinch but Serrano breaks away
and Serrano counters with a nice uppercut.

Serrano gets caught flat footed, as Navy shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Serrano will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Navy scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Serrano has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Navy off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Navy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Serrano paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Navy shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Navy showed some decent athleticism there.

Serrano won't allow Navy to pass to mount.

Navy is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Serrano doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Navy.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Navy looks to move to half guard but instead Serrano has passed into mount! Damn!

Serrano is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Navy is surviving well by controlling Serrano's body position as best he can.

Serrano tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Serrano has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Navy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Serrano. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Serrano is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Navy defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Navy shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Serrano manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Serrano has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Serrano manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Navy has hold of one of Serrano's legs. Serrano is fighting the takedown attempt but Navy gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Serrano wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Serrano is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Navy.
Navy takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Navy looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Serrano manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Navy is trying to break the clinch but Serrano has him pressed against the cage.

Serrano is pushing Navy up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Serrano seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
