Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Joseph Proudhon (ranked 2118 p4p, 283 weight class) and Cletus McDonald (ranked 1741 p4p, 235 weight class). McDonald has chosen Merle Haggard - Okie From Muskogee as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A cross from Proudhon lands.
Proudhon looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Proudhon fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
McDonald shoots for a double leg takedown but Proudhon sprawls well. He's pushed McDonald 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Proudhon was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
McDonald looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

McDonald shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
McDonald wants to pass to mount but Proudhon is defending the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Proudhon tries to roll over but McDonald keeps him under control.

Proudhon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McDonald is working away from the top position though.
Proudhon wants to improve his position but McDonald is controlling well.
Proudhon wants to control but McDonald is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Proudhon pushes McDonald off looking to stand but McDonald dives back in and keeps control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from McDonald .

McDonald shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than McDonald was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Proudhon tries to escape but McDonald is in control.
McDonald moves into full mount!
McDonald avoids the attempt from Proudhon to control.
Proudhon is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because McDonald is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
McDonald controlling the pace for now.
Proudhon is trying desperately to improve position.
McDonald takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Proudhon wants to control but McDonald is having none of it.
McDonald content just to control the position here.
Proudhon regains half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
McDonald passes Proudhon's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
McDonald is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Proudhon is trying to stand up here but McDonald is controlling him well.
McDonald prevents Proudhon from improving his position.
Proudhon manages to get to full guard.

McDonald slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

A close round but Cletus McDonald will probably get the nod.

Cletus McDonald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Proudhon loads up on a big right hand but McDonald slips the punch.
McDonald tries to clinch up but Proudhon circles away and keeps his distance.
McDonald tries for a takedown but Proudhon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
McDonald ducks under a wild hook from Proudhon.
McDonald is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
McDonald shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Proudhon pinned against the cage. Proudhon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

McDonald doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Proudhon counters with a series of strikes. McDonald will be more careful next time no doubt.

McDonald tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Proudhon swivels and escapes.
McDonald shoots for a takedown but Proudhon saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Proudhon was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
McDonald uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Proudhon.
Proudhon scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
McDonald on the wrong end of a nice hook.
McDonald tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Proudhon swivels and escapes.
Proudhon tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McDonald was well out of range. Poor timing from Proudhon.

and Proudhon cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

McDonald is rocked!
McDonald switches off momentarily and Proudhon cracks him with a monster right hand! McDonald topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Proudhon dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Proudhon!
