Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Tomson (ranked 23347 p4p, 340 weight class) and Harold Shermann (ranked 9094 p4p, 277 weight class). Tomson comes into the arena with R-Swift- Awesome God blaring out of the sound system. Shermann has chosen Nirvana - Dumb as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Tom Tomson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Harold Shermann!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tomson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Shermann napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shermann takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Tomson tries to get to his feet but Shermann is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Tomson in his guard.

Shermann has a closed guard, preventing Tomson from standing up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tomson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Tomson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Tomson trying to control but Shermann is working from the bottom.
Tomson wants to get up but he can't break Shermann's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Shermann pushes Tomson off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Shermann fails with a takedown attempt.
Shermann circles away from the clinch attempt
and Shermann counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Tomson wants to control but Shermann is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Tomson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Shermann connects with a nice short shot to Tomson's temple.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tomson tries to kick Shermann off but Shermann keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Shermann wants to control but Tomson is keeping him busy.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Shermann is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
