PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tomas Lindberg (ranked 1369 p4p, 159 weight class) and Street Fighter (ranked 341 p4p, 42 weight class). Lindberg comes to the ring accompanied by At The Gates - The Book of Sand. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Street Fighter!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Shimada and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lindberg on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Fighter has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Fighter might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Let's hope that Fighter has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Fighter tries to close the distance and clinch but Lindberg swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Fighter counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

That was a close round but I would say that Tomas Lindberg will probably get the nod.

Fighter takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Fighter connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Lindberg is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fighter.

Street Fighter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Lindberg looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Good leg kick by Fighter there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lindberg is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Fighter has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Lindberg is looking to defend but Fighter has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Lindberg! Fighter pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Lindberg taps out and this one is all over!
